Statement from the CEO
Canada is at a decisive point. Electricity demand is rising faster than new supply, supply chains are being redrawn along political lines, and the assets built in this decade will define grid reliability for the next forty years. Canadian Energies exists to build that capacity at home.
Our ESG position is inseparable from our commercial one. Every gigawatt of storage and solar we deploy avoids emissions, every line we commission in Chatham-Kent creates skilled Canadian jobs, and every supplier we screen strengthens the sovereignty of the domestic energy supply chain. This report sets out what we measure, where we stand, and what we have committed to deliver.

02
Materiality
We prioritise the topics that most affect long-term value creation and the communities hosting our assets. The following six topics guide disclosure and capital allocation.
Climate mitigation
Avoided emissions are the core product of every asset we build.
Grid resilience
Storage and dispatchable capacity underpin reliability for Ontario ratepayers.
Supply chain sovereignty
FEOC-compliant, Canadian-anchored supply chains de-risk delivery and financing.
Workforce and skills
A domestic manufacturing base depends on a trained, durable labour pool.
Community and land
Long-lived assets require sustained local consent and stewardship.
Governance and ethics
Institutional capital requires transparent, auditable controls.
03
Environmental performance
Our environmental contribution is driven by avoided emissions from deployed capacity and by the resource intensity of our manufacturing base. Storage capacity displaces peaking generation, solar capacity displaces marginal fossil generation, and our factory design targets high renewable electricity use and high waste diversion.
Environmental
Emissions avoided, capacity deployed and resource intensity across the platform.
15M+
Tonnes CO₂ avoided
Annual avoided emissions at full platform build-out
10 GW
Clean capacity platform
5 GW BESS, 3 GW solar, 2 GW Battery Cell Manufacturing
92%
Renewable electricity in operations
Ontario grid mix plus on-site generation target
85%
Manufacturing waste diverted
Design-for-recycling across module and cell lines
05
Governance and ethics
Institutional capital requires auditable controls. Our board maintains independent oversight, core conduct policies are in force across the group, and tier-1 suppliers are screened for FEOC, CUSMA and labour standards compliance before award.
Governance
Board oversight, policy coverage and supply chain integrity.
60%
Independent board oversight
Independent directors on the board and audit committee
100%
Core policy coverage
Code of conduct, anti-bribery and whistleblower policies in force
100%
Suppliers ESG screened
Tier-1 suppliers screened for FEOC, CUSMA and labour compliance
0
Material compliance incidents
No material breaches, fines or data incidents recorded
06
UN SDG alignment
Our platform contributes directly to six United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

07
Forward targets
| Target | Horizon | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Commission first 1 GW of module capacity in Chatham-Kent | 2027 | In progress |
| Reach 70% Canadian content across tier-1 procurement | 2028 | On track |
| Full Scope 1 and 2 inventory with third-party assurance | 2027 | In progress |
| 85% manufacturing waste diversion at steady-state operations | 2029 | Planned |
| 2,500+ direct and indirect jobs sustained across the campus | 2030 | On track |
| Net-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions for owned operations | 2035 | Planned |
08
Assurance and methodology
The ESG figures shown are forward-looking targets that apply once project activities commence; they are not current operating results. Avoided emissions are calculated against the Ontario marginal grid emissions factor over an assumed 25-year asset life. Job figures include direct, indirect and construction-phase roles at full build-out.
Forward-looking targets are commitments, not guarantees, and depend on permitting, interconnection and financing milestones. We intend to bring Scope 1 and 2 inventories under third-party assurance as operations reach steady state.

04
Social and workforce impact
A domestic manufacturing base only works with a domestic talent base. We invest in apprenticeships, technical training and local procurement so that the economic benefit of the platform stays in the communities that host it.
Social
Jobs, skills and Canadian supply chain participation.
2,500+
Direct and indirect jobs
Skilled manufacturing, construction and operations roles
40,000+
